Trails Offroad™ is proud to announce the addition of our new navigation features! Now, you can create and plan your own route on the website. This gives users the ability to really hone in on trip details before hitting the dirt. Let's go over the how-tos!
Creating a track
While on the Trail Map, you will see these new features in the upper right-hand corner of the map. These buttons are: Create Track, Add Waypoint, and Import Data.
To create a track, click the Create Track button and click a point on a base map road. Then, keep clicking along the road you wish to follow to create a track. Alternately, turn off Snap To in the left-hand box, which will allow you to draw a line anywhere on the map without being limited to roads.
On the left-hand side of the map, you will see the route details. Here, you can change the name, view the details, add notes, change the track color, or add the trail to a List.
Once you save the track, a details screen will appear. Here, you can go back to edit the track or perform actions like Get Directions, Duplicate, Export, Share, or Delete.
You can now manage your content by clicking My Content in the upper left corner of the Trail Map.
Adding a Waypoint
To add a waypoint, simply click Add Waypoint on the right-hand side of the map. The default location of the waypoint will be dropped in the center of the map. Alternately, you can click anywhere on the map and select Add Waypoint from the left-hand menu box. If you want to change, simply click and drag the waypoint to your desired location. In the left-hand box, you can change the title, add notes, change the color, and change the icon image.
Exporting and Sharing Data
Tracks and waypoints can be shared or exported! Click on the map over the track or waypoint you wish to share or export in GPX format, then select it from the side menu.
