Downloading for offline use is required to utilize the app while out of cell service. This will allow the app to track you as you follow through the guide. Downloading for offline use is simple and requires just two taps to download an entire state and its trails. Thats it! We designed it this way to keep things simple. There is no need to download a bunch of individual trails or drag boxes around a map.
First, open the TrailsOffroad app and click the "Offline" tab at the bottom.
Next, scroll down to the state you wish to download and select.
After clicking yes, be sure that you STAY ON THIS PAGE until the download is complete. Depending on the state and your connection speeds, this can be anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes.
To view the downloaded state, just head to the "Map" tab. The state in which you have downloaded will stay available to view while out of cell coverage.*
*Please note that photos and trail video are not downloaded. We do this so the file download stays small enough to fit on your phone! You can pre-cache photos if you open them while still in service. Please refer to: "Pre-Cache Photos for Offline Viewing".
